Where We Started…
Thrive Local Owner Kristina has always been passionate about supporting small businesses in her community. She saw the struggles that local makers, artists, and businesses faced in getting their products in front of customers. To help solve this problem, she began hosting "Shop Local" events in her home. She invited fellow local business owners to set up a display of their products and invited friends, family, and neighbors to come mingle and shop.
The events were a big success and kept getting bigger. After seeing the response from the community and the businesses doing well, Kristina knew she needed to make her bigger vision a reality. She picked up the phone and called the Town Center to pitch her idea for a pop-up store curated of local makers.
After the first few pop-ups we’re a success Kristina decided it was time to open a full time retail store at the Avenue Town Center in Viera. Things progressed quickly, and although she faced challenges along the way, including hurricanes delaying the store grand opening, pressure to fill the space with enough local makers, and a short deadline… She persevered.
Now Thrive Local is open year round and we encourage you to visit our welcoming space where you can browse our carefully selected collection of products, connect with other members of the community, and support local businesses.
